Shape Them in Place and Depend on Them to Perform

Overview

ConductRF’s Hand-formable RF Cable Assemblies are an ideal solution when you need highly stable, stay-in-place RF cables with routing flexibility. These cables overcome the hardened form factor disadvantage of semi-rigid cable and the free moving effects on signal performance related to flexible cables. Sometimes referred to as conformable* or reformable cables, these assemblies maintain their shape after forming them manually, but can also be reshaped as needed. They’re perfect for prototyping, short production runs, or tight routing in constrained enclosures.

What Makes a ConductRF Cable Assembly Hand-Formable?

ConductRF's Hand-formable RF Cable Assemblies utilize a tin-soaked copper braid to provide formability and shape retention after bending. This outer conductor also benefits RF performance which is further enhanced using solid Teflon dielectric and solid copper conductors. When professionally terminated by IPC-certified solderers, exceptionally stable signal transmission is achieved. Hand Formable cables do not require fixtures or clamps to maintain bend paths, and unlike semi-rigid, they do not require precision bending prior to use. Hand-formable cables are also available with or without an insulating jacket and are stocked in industry standard sizes of .047”, .086” and .141”, making them usable with many standard connector styles. Hand formable RF cables can also support high frequency applications up to 40 GHz.

Our team understands the nuances of each cable's mechanical and electrical trade-offs, including bend memory, shielding effectiveness, environmental performance, and connector style and brand compatibilities.
